Passion Project Series

  • I'm blessed to know so many amazing people and I wanted a way to showcase their beauty, talents and passions... thus was born the passion project. It is an avenue for me to showcase the amazing human beings around me doing what they love. I wanted to do this series of portraits in a unique way so I decided to do multiple exposures in camera. This series contains no photoshop.

The first person who came to mind was my friend Craig, not only is he an amazing father, husband, friend, climber, photographer and overall incredible human but he is passionate about everything he does. Every time I have been in Craig's presence I have been witness to his encouragement and patience, whether that is helping a new climber, a seasoned climber, a photographer, his kids or a friend achieve something they didn't think they could.

When I told Craig I wanted to shoot a couple of photos he didn't ask any questions, he simply said "sweet, when and where?" Its rare that you can find a friend that will oblige you with no questions asked and I really appreciate that about him.

So here is the first in a series of what I hope to be many photos of people being awesome.

  • This is the second photo in my passion series. My stunning, creative friend Darby. She is always making people feel as beautiful on the outside as they are on the inside. I love going to get my hair done by her because she has the most amazing attitude about life and a truly contagious smile. We have the most encouraging conversations and I feel like I leave empowered to take on the world.

Go visit her at Studio Be Salon, it is her passion to make you the most gorgeous version of yourself.

I'm thankful to know Darby and call her a friend and grateful that she let me experiment for a rad photo.

  • Next up in my photo series is my friend Andrew Carney. He has a crazy drive and passion for mountain biking and all things outdoors. I remember seeing tires, parts and stinky jerseys all over the house he and Dave rented, and witnessing the excitement in their eyes as they planned their next ride or route to climb. Even when it was not the easiest, Andrew chose to follow his heart and pursue adventure. To me he exemplifies the word passion. These photos were taken at the New Belgium Brewing short track races where he likes to tear it up from time to time.

  • This is the beautiful Libby Lyons, owner of Elan Yoga & Fitness. After taking a class with her at lululemon athletica Fort Collins Showroom I knew I had to do a shoot with her. I loved her spirit and her energy and the joy she had while teaching. Libby is graceful, elegant, strong and humble. I am grateful that she shares her passion with the world through teaching yoga.

  • If you live in Fort Collins you have probably visited New Belgium Brewing once or twice (a week) and most likely enjoyed a beer crafted by Lauren Salazar. Lauren is the wood cellar manager, sensory specialist, and the creator of many amazing sour beers including my all time favorite La Folie. If you have ever enjoyed a sour beer from New Belgium you have Lauren to thank for it. I enjoyed spending time with Lauren weaving in and out of the foeders. Dave's face lit up like it was Christmas with each new beer she shared from her favorite barrels. Lauren's passion for good beer shines through in the characteristics of the beers she curates. Cheers to Lauren and the rest of the New Belgium crew! Go enjoy their hard work and crack open a tasty beer!

  • Firefighting was a passion that coursed through my father's veins. He is one of my biggest heros, not only because he gave so much for his family, but also because he gave so much of himself for others. For longer than I've been alive as most people were sitting down for dinner he was suiting up in 60 lbs. of gear—sprinting out the door to save someone from the flames engulfing their home, or pull someone's loved one from a burning car. His bravery was one of the most honorable passion's someone can have and I'm blessed that I can call him my father. #passionproject #firefighter #multipleexposure
